Ripped off at professional Beauty london
Complete rip off paid £60 for 15 minutes !! Not realising until after that I had previously worked in a salon with this *** brand that never worked on any clients and also the treatment was £80 for30 mins and they were acting as if the 15 min session went down to to £40 for 2 no you just halved the treatment once she drew me in she then said she will do 1 for £50 as my friend wasn’t having it done then she came with “spend a extra £10 for a stronger one” making out as if the other one was no good, my friend also asked about the aftercare she said there was none at all ... I don’t even do teeth whitiening but once I’d realised after that it was the same brand at a salon I’ve worked at I remember the clear aftercare we HAD to give to clients and this is someone representing the brand AT PB LONDON telling us there is no aftercare so pissed I’ve wasted £60 and seen NO difference don’t bother with this brand Training or treatment
Utter waste of time
Cruise ship Mega scam
I was on an elite cruise ship to Vietnam and the on board spa offered Mega White for $150.00 It didn't even last 2 days and barely lightened my teeth after a 30 minute treatment. The person doing the treatment was also the hair stylist on board, so obviously had no idea what she was doing.
She pretended to give me a "take home" tube as an extra bonus without upcharge. I found out later that was supposed to be part of the 150.00 I had paid already. I can see by reading other comments I was truly ripped off in price!
A true scam. Cruise ship notified also.

I was a megawhite distributor and have just been prosecuted. Although the evidence submitted by the GDC was near enough completely fabricated.
I was accused of putting my fingers in the mouth and removing the gum shield and pre filling trays. This was a complete lie by the 2 witnesses they provided and the GDC accepted that, however I was still prosecuted on the basis that I provided a self administered tooth whitening system on my premises. Just by simply handing the sealed package and providing a light is a service and classed as dentistry.
I was very fortunate at court only receiving just over £1000 costs. My advice to others is it is illegal don't do it I just went through *** and back with false allegations being put forward and massive barrister costs Graeme Pattinson

Megawhite lost in court - judge ruled Megawhite is illegal
The County Court has ruled any tooth whitening technician who hands the patient a whitening tray is the practice of dentistry and must be done by the dentist.
Caroline Sumpter brought the case against Megawhite, who claimed their advanced laser tooth whitening technicians did not have to be dentists. Ms Sumpter, herself a beauty therapist, was sold the ‘Megawhite Teeth Whitening Licence' under the pretence she did not have to be a dentist to carry out the treatment.
After being informed this was not the case, Ms Sumpter requested a refund, having been sold the kit under false pretences. When handing down the verdict, the judge in the case deemed the following services to be the practice of dentistry according to the GDC and the Dental Act of 1984 and refused grounds to appeal:
Selling the packet
Operator taking a shade guide
Operator telling client to read the packet
Operator taking client to a seat
Operator giving laser goggles and then setting the time on the lamp and putting in front of the clients mouth
Operator then removing the expelled mouth tray and goggles
Operator then taking a post-treatment shade guide
Ms Sumpter said: "I am delighted at the ruling. I feel completely vindicated knowing this was not a legal procedure I could carry out, much to the denial of those behind the product.
"This case should serve as a warning for those currently offering similar types of treatment. It is illegal and cannot be tolerated any more."
The law clearly states tooth whitening products containing or releasing between 0.1 and six per cent hydrogen peroxide can now only be sold to a registered dental professional with the first application to be carried out under a dentist's supervision in the practice.
Chief Executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, Dr Nigel Carter OBE, said: "This is excellent news for those people looking to get their teeth whitened. Tooth whitening is a dental procedure as per the Dental Act 1984. Following the clarification of the law in 2013, these so-called whitening technicians have been seeking to exploit loopholes in the law to carry on offering the procedure illegally. This ruling should put an end to the debate once and for all.
"It is embarrassing that it has taken an individual to do what the GDC is failing to do and protect the public. It should not be left to individuals like Ms Sumpter to highlight the illegality of tooth whitening technicians. The regulatory body should be far more robust in their investigation process and protect the public from illegal tooth whiteners."
Dr Stuart Johnston from the British Dental Association added: "This makes it perfectly clear, that despite what those encouraging non-dentists to purchase their services and products say, tooth whitening is the practice of dentistry. This ensures patient safety with the correct techniques and safe evidence based products."
Both the British Dental Health Foundation and British Dental Association have been instrumental in helping to clarify the tooth whitening laws following the European Council's directive in 2013.
Alongside a number of other representatives, they have formed the Tooth Whitening Information Group, to educate and inform the public on how to achieve safe tooth whitening while also offering clear guidance to the dental, health and beauty profession on the regulations and to offer support to the relevant bodies who will be tackling illegal tooth whitening.
The Tooth Whitening Information Group played a significant role in helping Ms Sumpter's case by providing guidance during the trial.
Ms Sumpter added: "I am so grateful to the many people at the Tooth Whitening Information Group who have helped me along the way and I would like to thank them for the support they have provided for me throughout the case. The verdict comes as such a huge relief."
The other members of the group include the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy, British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, British Association of Dental Nurses and the British Dental Bleaching Society.

Megawhite Business Packages - DON'T TAKE THE RISK
Megawhite is an illegal business package for anyone other than a registered and qualified dentist or dental professional to use.
Liz Corbett-Makiyi and her son Brian Christie the CEO are well aware of this fact, as I took them to court in October 2014 and sucessfully sued them for a refund which they were refusing to give me.
The points of law as pointed out by the judge in my case and ALL other tooth whitening cases relate to section 37 & 38 of the 1984 dental act.
It is NOT a self-administered system as they claim.
The fact that I won my case and got a refund and was awarded costs just proves that in the eyes of the law I am right.
Teeth whitening although a cosmetic procedure is a cosmetic procedure within the relms of dentistry NOT beauty, that is why the dental act enforces it.
Legally what Megawhite can do is sell their product through shops or online, that is then classed as self administration, they cannot provide a teeth whitening service at shows like Professional Beauty unless it is carried out by a dentist or dental professional regitered with the GDC.
The girls on the stands are NOT dentists or even dentally qualified, most of them don't even know what the ingredients are or what they do to you teeth. They are ALL megawhite franchisees/sales staff, they are given a briefing before they go out to convince people to buy the product by whatever means necessary.
I was on Rip Off Britain highlighting my experience with Megawhite, the BBC did a thorough investigation before the programme was even filmed and I liased with them and the BBC lawyers, Megawhite delined to appear to defend themselves, but the General Dental Council did and totally agreed with what I was saying. I have also had articles written by Andrew Penman in The Mirror who also investigated Megawhite.
Brian and Liz stooped so low as to try to intimidate me in numerous ways, starting with a cease and desist letter, endless phone calls and texts, then by enlisting the help of Richard Hillgrove a PR Guru with a criminal record for siphoning off £100,000 off funds from VAT and National Insurance payments, he failed to hand over £100,000 in tax, at his hearing at Bristol Crown Court he received a suspended sentance after arguing that he couldn't run his business from prison! Richard Hillgrove was instructed to make false and slanderous comments about me and the GDC in a lengthy statement they released. Liz and Brian are a pair of desperate bullies trying to cling onto their crumbling 'empire'.
The 'basic' package costs £995 plus vat you have to then pay either a monthly fee or a one off yearly payment to keep your Licence & Insurance so you are looking at around £2k.
The licence is something they made up - it is not recognised by any cosmetic or dental body, the Insurance is for the Megawhite product only, not the person carrying it out. So that means the operator is still NOT insured. Just a way of getting more money out of the people who believe all their sales hype. 100% legal - says it all, I've proved otherwise.
Neither Liz or Brian have any dental qualifications even though Brian has listed himself on Company House documents and numerous sites on the internet as a dentist.
As many others have stated on the Internet the effects of Megawhite are very short lived, often not lasting till the next day.
Megawhite claim baking soda as it 'main' ingredient - a great abrasive for your teeth enamel! Why pay £30 for that when you could get a tube of Arm and Hammer from the pound shop!
Save your money and leave teeth whitening to the Dentist's, they are experts in this field for a reason, you cannot learn all you need to know about teeth whitening in a video or a few hours training. Dentists study for 5 years and take teeth whitening as an extra module. Dentists are also taught by Consultants and Professors who have many years expertise and experience, NOT sales staff!

Megawhite Treatment Review
Another dental professionals opinion
I came across this group of clowns at the Ideal Home Show exhibition last year and it gave me quite a chuckle.
It quickly became obvious that, ignoring the obvious legal implications, the treatment was ineffective and possibly damaging. They admitted that the active ingredient is sodium bicarbonate and is "completely safe".
I asked them what qualifications they had and I was quickly passed on to the "managing director". When asked about qualifications he started to bluster and eventually admitted that he did not have any but that the treatment was designed by a "Dr Favero" in London.
I have contacted Dr Favero at his clinic in Wimpole Street and he denies any ongoing involvement.
Why someone would trust the word of a company run by someone with no qualifications?
Performing a search on Google has revealed a trail of lies, U turns on what they actually offer (at one point they performed the treatment, that became illegal so now they train others... says a lot)
Regarding the "completely safe" sodium bicarbonate - not only is it an abrasive, but it can weaken commonly used dental adhesives for braces etc.
As they claim that there is no consultation involved, therefore you cannot ask them any questions, your only option is to either avoid this "self administered" treatment or risk having your braces damaged!

My teeth are just the same
I had this done at the Olympia Beauty show at the weekend (Sunday 4th October 2015) and by Tuesday my teeth were back to normal. I thought they looked brighter at first immediately after I finished but i think that was probably due to the bright lighting in the place.
When I got home and had a look the only difference was that maybe my teeth were a bit patchy. In fact the only part that looked whiter were my gums which had a bit of a whiteish colour to them which probably isnt good.
Had a quick Google to see if this was normal and found nothing but bad reviews of them. Complete waste of £35
